Whitman, New Jersey’s leading environmental and engineering management firm, has announced that Kenneth E. Rux, P.E., has joined the firm as a Project Manager in the Structural Department. Rux previously worked for Philadelphia-based O’Donnell & Naccarato, Inc., and has successfully completed projects throughout Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware and New Jersey.
At Whitman, Rux will be responsible for structural engineering design services, including structural steel design, concrete design, foundation design, underpinning design and the design of earth-retaining structures. He will also be responsible for performing structural evaluations of roofs and other support structures in conjunction with our renewable energy design services. Whitman has designed more than 10 megawatts of solar projects, many involving structural assessments and upgrades of roofing systems.
"Ken brings to Whitman outstanding experience working with large-scale residential, commercial and public projects, including the Pascack Valley Hospital in Westwood, N.J., and the Harrah’s Casino and Racetrack in Chester, Pa.," said Barry Skoultchi, president of Whitman. "Ken will play an important role at Whitman, helping us to serve new and existing clients and address the structural components of their projects."
A graduate of Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, Rux has completed several major projects on the East Coast, including the River Tower at Christina Landing in Wilmington, De., which included the construction of a 27-story concrete condominium building, a part of the Wilmington waterfront revitalization effort. Rux also managed the development of a seven-story courthouse consisting of composite steel framework that incorporated a story-high, 80-ft long truss allowing for an unobstructed loading dock service area at the Chester County Justice Center in West Chester, Pa.
Rux is a licensed Professional Engineer, a member of the Delaware Valley Association of Structural Engineers and an adjunct professor at Philadelphia University instructing structural analysis classes in an accredited 5-year Bachelor of Architecture program.
