On Saturday, November 14th from 6 pm to 8 pm, the Board of Trustees of the Museum of Early Trades & Crafts will host its annual wine tasting fundraiser, Wine & Song and will be honoring Museum Education Coordinator, Meg Wastie.
Over the past six years Museum Education Coordinator, Meg Wastie, has been responsible for bringing a fresh breath of air to the Museum’s education department. Using her 30 years experience as an English teacher at Columbia High School in Maplewood, Meg re-vamped, re-organized and re-designed the Museum’s existing school programs. She also created a number of new and innovative history-based programs that are both entertaining as well as educational, and has adapted many of them for audiences of all ages, including young children and senior citizens. In addition, Meg runs a number of the Museum’s popular public programs, including Family Fun Days, Kids’ Club, and Summer Camp for a Day.
Beyond working at the Museum, Meg also runs her own tutoring business, Clarion Review. Clarion Review is an SAT prep course for students in high school. Meg finds the time, when not putting in extra hours at the Museum, to offers students private and classroom courses. She also volunteers at Somerset Hills Adult Day Center and is an active member of the Seton Hall Choir. Meg continues to bring innovative, unique and creative ideas to the Museum, its programs and its visitors.
The Board of Trustees cannot begin to express their sincere gratitude for all the extra efforts Meg puts into everything she does for the Museum and they wish to honor her for that.
