The Performing Arts Conservatory to Host Grand Opening, September 2nd

The Performing Arts Conservatory (The-PAC) will be hosting a grand opening event on Wednesday, September 2nd starting at 10 a.m.

At The Performing Arts Conservatory we understand that early exposure to the arts enhances brain development and fine motor skills, while also promoting positive self-expression. Our incredible faculty of working professionals provides the highest-quality instruction in dance, theater, and music, and we are proud to also offer classes specifically designed for special needs children. Wednesday, Sept 2nd at Elefante Music (1790 Springfield Ave, New Providence)

Opening Events include:

10am – Sing Along with Granma Mary Ann (ages 3-6)

11am – Introduction to Dance with Ruthann Lanni (ages 3-6)

3pm – Acting for Beginners with Suzanne Hevner (ages 8 and up)

4pm – Shakespeare for Fun with Susanna Baddiel (ages 8 and up)

7pm – New Providence premier of Rocks in the River, an independent short film shot entirely in New Providence

7:30pm – Musical Performances – Joe Elefante and Friends

Teacher Bios

Susanna Baddiel grew up in the United Kingdom and studied for her degree in Drama, Dance & English at Bretton Hall College (Leeds University). She currently works as an actress and voice over artist in New York City. She has appeared in on a number of plays in London’s West End and in NYC, LA and Boston. She also works as a British dialect coach in New York City, coaching actors for Off -Broadway productions. Susanna has acted in fourteen of Shakespeare’s plays including a fundraiser for the Globe Theatre with Vanessa Redgrave and Sir Ian McKellen. In 2000 Susanna helped found the Actors Shakespeare Company where she continues to act, direct and coach.

Suzanne Hevner has appeared on television and in films including: Doubt, Broken Flower, Changing Lanes and Late Night with Conan O’Brien. She played the Widow Mason in The Broadway Revival of The Music Man. Suzanne also appears in many Regional Theatre productions around the country. With over 15 years of teaching experience, Susanne has taught acting and improvisation for all ages, notice to professional, as well as corporate executives. She teaches acting at the New York Film Academy, The American Musical and Dramatic Academy in New York, and the New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts. In addition to teaching at the Performing Arts Conservatory, Suzanne is also available for private coaching.

Mary Ann Narciso is a Fulbright Scholar, a retired Early Childhood Expert and a professional Grandmother, with over 14 years of practical, real world, hands on, experience in the field of Grandparenting. Prior to her current position Mary Ann engaged in projects outside of the home. She served as a Kindergarten teacher in the New York City Public Schools for 3 decades before ascending to the role of Curriculum director for Brooklyn and Staten Island. As an educator, she toured the world, visiting South Africa on an educational mission and India and New Delhi on her Fulbright exchange in 2001. Upon her retirement, she began to write children’s stories and her first book series "Serious Sam and Friends, debuts in 2010.

Ruthann Lanni received her MA in Dance and Dance Education from New York University in 2005. She has studied dance as her life’s passion and has spent the past decade refining her teaching skills and developing dance curriculum. Ruthann has developed a dance program for a corporation that presents her material throughout NY, NJ and MA. She has choreographed pieces for community theatres, high school productions and has had her original choreography performed throughout several states. Proficient in ballet, pointe, modern, musical theater dance and early childhood dance, Ruthann brings years of teaching, curriculum development and performance experience to the dance program.

The Performing Arts Conservatory seeks to provide a safe and positive environment where our students and staff can explore who they are as artists. Our goal is to help each and every person to find and develop the tools and methods that best suit them as individuals. We strive to provide an artistic home for our students and staff to come back to, as they endeavor to master their craft, and continue on their artistic journey.
