On Friday July 30, 2010 at approximately 1:09 PM the New Providence Police Department, New Providence EMS, and Paramedic unit responded to the intersection of Springfield Avenue and Ridgeview Avenue on a report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle.
The pedestrian was running in the crosswalk from the New Providence Community Pool towards Ridgeview Avenue when he was struck by the vehicle. The pedestrian was conscious and alert. He was transported to Overlook Hospital where he is being treated for a leg injury.
A summons was issued to the driver from Morristown for failure to yield right of way to a pedestrian.
