Stanley Congregational Church, United Church of Christ has announced its Holy Week Worship schedule. On Palm Sunday, March 28, 2010 the service will begin with the Blessing of the Palms at 9:45AM in the Memory Garden followed by the Procession into the Sanctuary. The Palm Sunday music will include "Hosanna to the Son of David" by Thomas Weelkes during the early part of the service which celebrates Jesus triumphal entry on the donkey’s back. Midway through the Worship the theme turns towards the crucifixion of Christ, including the anthem, "Tenebrae Factae Sunt" (At the Darkest Hour) by Francis Poulenc. The service closes with a dramatic reading of the Passion.

On Maundy Thursday, April 1, 2010 there will be a Seder Meal beginning at 7PM. Worship service (The Extinguishing of Lights) follows at 8 pm in the Sanctuary. The service will be observed with Communion, followed by the candlelight service of Tenebrae. Guest soloist, Alice Regan Moynahan, soprano, will sing the spiritual; "Were You There When They Crucified My Lord" after the candles have been extinguished.

On Easter Sunday, April 4, 2010 the worship service begins at 10am in the Sanctuary. Easter Sunday service music will include Brass Quartet, Percussion, Chimes and Organ accompaniment. Traditional hymns of Resurrection in festival settings will be sung by all. The Children’s Choir will sing "Rejoice" by Walter Watson, and an augmented Adult Choir will sing Handel’s "Sing Unto God" (from Judas Macabeus), "Spice She Brought, and Sweet Perfume" by McNeil Robinson, and "Now Glad of Heart" by K. Lee Scott.
